A Dawn of Economic Transformation: IIWF at the Aceh Sharia Economic & Investment Outlook 2026
The BSI Aceh Landmark Building in Banda Aceh buzzed on November 27, 2025, hosting the Aceh Sharia Economic & Investment Outlook 2026. The forum sought to redefine Aceh’s growth trajectory using Islamic values. Among the key international figures were Aminnurllah Mustapha (CEO) and Haji Zaidi (COO) of the Ihsan International Waqf Labuan Foundation (IIWF), invited by BSI. Their mission: to introduce transformative waqf models.
During the Panel Session, Aminnurllah delivered a compelling 25-minute presentation on “Global Best Practices of Productive Waqf Management.” He moved beyond traditional charity, showcasing modern, self-sustaining waqf projects from countries like Malaysia—urban development, education, and social enterprises.
Aminnurllah stressed the vital need for governance innovation and synergy among waqf institutions, the government, and Islamic banks like BSI. He presented actionable blueprints, emphasizing that this three-pronged collaboration was crucial to build a robust waqf-linked finance ecosystem in Aceh.
IIWF’s contribution successfully positioned productive waqf not just as a social tool, but as a dynamic engine for value-driven, inclusive economic growth, marking a pivotal moment in Aceh’s economic transformation agenda.
